As a lifelong learner that has encountered many of life’s curve balls, documenting my studies and projects for the other “Carlos” of the world seems like the right thing to do. If my voice and perspective can positively impact even one person, then this website will have done its job.

For My Students: first, congratulations in being a part of the best risk management program in the world (n.b. Columbia pays me to say that – jk)! As I tell all of my students, going beyond the curriculum is going to set you apart from other candidates in today’s competitive environment. I hope this website serves as a testament to that idea and encourages you to never stop learning.

For Everyone Else: when I studied something new and foreign to me (hello FRM!), I did everything under the sun in an attempt to understand the material. However, using my own voice to simplify and breakdown the concepts into digestible knowledge is truly what made the difference. I am not a guru or an influencer, and I’m definitely not here to sell you anything. My goal is to assist you in your own learning journeys and maybe, one day, you’ll pass that forward. Enjoy!
